Beltane Blessings ...
The following has been slightly adapted from a version of the full Wiccan Rede.
Nine woods in the Cauldron go, some burn fast and some burn slow ...
Birch into the fire goes,
and represents all the Lady knows.
Oak in the forest that towers with might,
into the fire, brings the God's insight.
Rowan is a tree of power,
letting life and magic flower.
Willows by the water stand,
ready to help us to the Summerland.
Hawthorn is burned to purify,
and draw the faerie to your eye.
Hazel tree of wisdom and of learning,
adds its strength to the fire burning.
White are the flowers of Apple tree,
that brings us fruits of fertility.
Grapes that grow upon the Vine,
bringing forth both joy and wine.
Fir does mark the evergreen,
to represent immortality.
But ...
Elder is the Lady's tree,
burn it not or cursed you'll be.
