Abundance Jars - How to make one.

I hope you enjoy making this jar, I know I do when I make them for others. Abundance will not happen overnight, but it will happen when it's supposed to. Have patience and trust.

Gather the following:

1.   Glass Jar – I find a small-medium sized one works well. There are plenty of nicely shaped coffee jars etc. to choose from these days and most charity shops have a selection of glass jars/vases. Pick something that looks and feels good to you.

2.   Rice, wheat or corn – Just enough to fill up to a third of the jar. There is no need to be greedy, these are the ‘seeds for growth’ and as such, will need space to do so. Plus, you will be adding other bits and bobs too.

3.   Some gold and silver –scraps of broken jewellery would be perfect. These represent the deities of the Sun and Moon.

4.   Any small items to represent the following colours; red, orange, yellow, pink, green, blue and purple. These can be buttons, beads, scraps of material etc. they are symbolic of the Chakras, the energy centers of the body.

5.   A clear quartz crystal. This represents the higher spiritual realm.

6.   Coins – One of each denomination of your currency. These symbolise the financial aspect of the jar.

7.   Material and an elastic band – This is to form the top. Any scrap of material will do as long as it is breathable. The elastic band will help keep it in place until you are ready to tie the ribbons on.

8.   Ribbons x 4 – Red, gold, green and blue.
These need to be long enough to weave into a plait and tie around the neck of your jar. These colours not only represent the four elements; Fire, Water, Earth and Air, but also specific areas of our lives; Emotional, Spiritual, Physical and Financial. When plaiting these together, at the end of the ritual, take time to contemplate all of these aspects when you ask for that which you desire.

****

When creating your jar, I suggest doing so on the night of the full moon, when the power of the Goddess is at its height. ( Obviously, if doing this with children, I wouldn’t expect you to keep them up! ) As with all magic, your intent and your belief is the key.
Give voice to the following ritual as you create your jar, considering each step and what each item represents as you do so. (You can do this in your head if you’re feeling shy.)

Abundance ritual

I take this jar, and open it wide,
and gather the seeds for growth inside.
I add in some gold and some silver too,
and a rainbow of colours with a spiritual hue.

Red; is for grounding, it binds to the earth,
Orange; for warming, it represents birth.

Yellow; for essential, emotional flow
Pink; for the romance and healthy heart-glow.

Green; is for growth, what you sow… shall you reap
Blue; is for water and articulate speech.

Purple; to nurture your intuitive self,
Clear Crystal; to strengthen your spiritual wealth.

Drop in some coins, one of each…that should do.
Gather four ribbons; red, gold, green and blue,
Weave them together, then tie in a bow.
My jar is now ready, for abundance to grow.

Once your jar is complete, place it behind the toilet in your bathroom, or as close as you can. This is to symbolise the feeding and watering of your jar.

Say the following to close the ritual as you lay your jar to rest, or create your own version.

I ask the Goddess in her prime,
to grant abundance from this time.
Not too much, and not too slow,
I seek enough to ease the load.
A bounty that fulfils my needs,
wrought from necessity, not from greed.

My heart's now open and ready to receive,
whilst harming none, so mote it be.

****

Then leave the jar alone … Remember, this is not a 'Get Rich Quick' spell.

Blessed be,

Willow
